Update...
According to Kay, at night the locals piss on the Blarney stone. Soooo I think I'm going to skip kissing it and admire it from a distance, I may even pee on it myself... who knows. I guess this means I must kiss goodbye to any dreams of eloquence!
2 more days...
So there are two more days until I leave for Ballyvaughen and I have sooooo sooooo sooooo much left to do. I feel like there is not enough time in a week to get ready for this trip. I am super excited though so I'm making a list to make it a little easier on myself.
Don't Forget:
toothbrush
bobby pins
hair ties

According to legend, kissing the blarney stone endows the kisser with the gift of gab (great eloquence or skill at flattery). The stone was set into a tower of the blarney castle in 1446. The castle is a popular tourist site in Ireland, attracting visitors from all over the world to kiss the Stone and tour the castle and its gardens. The word blarney has come to mean clever, flattering, or coaxing talk.
Megan told me the other day that I needed to go see the stone, but she didn't know if it would be sanitary to kiss it. She said maybe I could put on some chapstick, kiss the stone, and then wipe the chapstick off....
oh what a peach

Oh Ireland!
As I've been talking to people about my trip there have been some common questions such as, "Where is Ballyvaughan?" I thought it might be easiest to show some pictures of where I'll be staying and what the landscape looks like... enjoy!

Ireland or Bust
Hi there...
I've decided to create this blog in order to keep in touch with people while I am away studying in Ireland. I will be living in a part of Ireland called "the Burren" in the town of Ballyvaughan. I get to go to school in a castle and live in a cottage... how cool is that? I will keep this updated on how all my planning is going. I can't wait to be in Ireland!!!
